Shakti Kapoor was born on 3 September 1958 in Delhi in a Punjabi family to father Sikander Lal Kapoor and mother Sushila Kapoor. His father ran a tailor shop in New Delhi's Connaught Place to feed his family and his mother was a homemaker.
